4 of 5 Excellent price, excellent value Thursday, November 27, 2008 Tom from Thurmont, Maryland
I use these little suckers while I'm mowing my lawn. They're great for that use and they keep your ears warm. Duel purpose! Can't say how well they work hooked up to a radio or cd player though. But for the price, I couldn't pass it up. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very cheap and functional Thursday, November 20, 2008 Ed from Shenandoah, IA
Okay, they're not Bose, but on a recent overseas flight, they reduced engine noise significantly. They're not for audiophiles, but for the price, they function pretty darn good. I bought two, but one broke--the plastic broke, probably from stuffing them in carry on bags. I don't think it was a design fault. I wore them for extended periods, and they were reasonably comfortable. I would recommend them for value-conscious buyers. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good for the price Sunday, November 02, 2008 FJT from Chicago
The headphone have good quality of canceling noise for the price that buy.com offered. I really like it and I recommend. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good for the price Thursday, October 30, 2008 A Customer from St. Louis, MO
Noise cancellation is not great and there is a faint hum when noise cancellation is on, but they do work reasonably well considering the low price. Comfortable. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Headphones do work! Monday, October 27, 2008 A Customer from Seattle, WA
The way to test them is 1) Put in a AAA battery. _You slide open the compartment - it is un-marked. 2)Be a passenger in a noisy car or stand next to a noisy area like a loud air-handler 3) You turn on the switch. Immediately you will notice that much of the outside noise has disappeared. So they do work! Re: sound quality: basic. Look at it this way - you could crank up your ear buds to block out background noise and loose your hearing - or you can listen to music at a normal level w/ basic, OK sound. They still are a bargain for $20. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great headphones Monday, October 20, 2008 A Customer from Gallipolis, OH
Great price and work pretty good. For under $20 I did not expect it to block out everything, but it does a pretty good job for normal household noise. Was this review helpful?
1 of 5 In this case - You get what you pay for! Sunday, October 19, 2008 A Customer from PA
These where suppose to have been marked down from $99.00 well if that were the case they are very poor quality. For the $17.99 that I paid my son said he would use them until he could get something better. But I feel it was a waste of money. They do cancel out most noise but there is also feed back through them. Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 Uncomfortable and very short cord! Saturday, October 18, 2008 A Customer from San Gabriel, CA
The sound is OK, but the cord is too short. It is made of cheap material, and it is somewhat uncomfortable to wear it. The headphones are small and it can hurt your ears after 10 to 15 minutes of wearing it. I guess this is what you get what you're paying for. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 price appropriate performance Saturday, October 18, 2008 A Customer from ca
if you buy these headphones expecting them to be as good as the quiet comfort line you will be disappointed. on the other hand, if you expect to get a decent set of headphones that offer good sound quality then you'll be very happy. the noise canceling is really not that great overall, but it is appropriate for the price. the ease of use is definitely there, and it only requires one aaa battery. i also found them to be quite comfortable. one feature i especially liked was the swiveling earpieces which allow for easy storage in my laptop backpack. overall i am very happy with my headphones and i think you will be to (as long as you realize that you will get what you pay for). 5 of 5 Great phones - low price Thursday, October 09, 2008 Pete from Brunswick, Ohio
I was a little leery since the price was so low, but these headphones are great. They have a great sound and the noise canceler works like a charm. I bought these to wear while mowing the lawn and I love 'em. Great value. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great headphone Monday, October 06, 2008 A Customer from jersey city, nj
Great headset. Tried it immediately upon arrival and the sound is great. Tried the noise cancelling feature by putting on the battery..(just be careful because it might break when you force it open)and put on the volume of my TV to a full and truly it reduces much of the sound outside. 2 of 5 You get what you pay for... Monday, October 06, 2008 A Customer from Shepherdstown, WV
Exactly what the headline says, "You get what you pay for"... When I turn up the music on my Ipod, there is a little distortion - overall the headphone speakers don't get that loud. The headphone cups are awkward and don't really adjust to my head. Save your $20 and apply the $ to a pair you can test and wear at a brick-n-mortar store. My two cents...
(PS - I'm sticking with my Radio Shack cheapies that are much more comfortable) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 gr8! Sunday, October 05, 2008 A Customer from lake charles
$18 for these headphones is a real deal. The sound is great with somewhat deep bass. Noise cancellation works OK. But for 18 dollars, I cannot expect any thing more. They look big but they fit on your head with the band of rubber provided. Anyway! i am happy. I had a good one. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 good price for good product Sunday, October 05, 2008 A Customer from Vail, AZ
I tried these headphones outside a hotel near a busy military airport, they are great. I can barely hear the jet overhead. Definitely recommended! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great Headphones & Great Price Saturday, October 04, 2008 Kevin from Fort Myers FL
I tried these on my home system and they are great. I bought them for my next airline flight, I can't wait to try them on the plane. I mostly bought them to wear so that the people sitting next to me won't try and tell me their boring life stories. I am sure these will both work for that and sound great. How can you lose at $19.99 & free shipping. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 excellent buy for the money Saturday, October 04, 2008 A Customer from Massachusets
I use the headphones mainly in a gym to cancel noise of treadmills, etc. while listening to music. They do a good job.
I find they cancel about 60% of airplane noise.
I bought a second pair for use at home while listening to streaming audio while working at my computer.

The price was good so I placed an order.
For noise canceling, the RCA phones cannot compare to my old Sony headphones that I must replace. Had I actually tried the RCA prior to purchase, I would have spent more for a different model that would do a better job of reducing background noise (dog barking in particular!)…

a little big for my female head even on the smallest setting, but still worth the price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 RCA Active Noise Reduction Stereo Phones Testimoni Tuesday, September 30, 2008 Teo from Windosr Mill, Maryland
Purchased three head sets to use during cross country flight and was pleasently surprised; found the sound attenuation, active noise reduction and stereo sound quality to be very good. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Can't beat the price! Monday, September 29, 2008 A Customer from Orange County, California
I bought these initially thinking they would probably not make much of a difference. Boy was I wrong. I took them on a flight to Michigan. I used them with my portable DVD player and my Zune. They did a good job of canceling the aircraft noise. Are they as good as a pair of $250 Boise? Probably not. But for $20 I got more than expected. Turn them on and off while wearing to hear the difference. The headphones rotate so storing them in a backpack or computer bag will not break them. I just bought a second pair for my friend to use. 5 of 5 Selective Hearing FTW Monday, September 29, 2008 Jami from Indianapolis, IN
If you want a way to listen to music or your video game and have a good excuse why you can't hear your girlfriend asking you if you've fed the dog or not you definitely want these headphones. Wearing them is the ultimate selective hearing. Enjoy! Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Great value Monday, September 29, 2008 A Customer from Skillman, NJ, US
Headphones are a wonderful alternative to the more expensive Bose and Sony with similar functionality. Sound is clear. Uses 2AAA batteries. No volume control - use device's control. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 They worked fine for me Monday, September 29, 2008 A Customer from Texas
So far I have just used them with my laptop and I thought the sound was fine. By the way, mine came with a little instruction sheet that told me where to put in the battery; otherwise, being a new user I probably wouldn't have figured it out! It would be nice if the band adjusted a little closer to my head. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great for the Money Monday, September 29, 2008 Jose from Pittsburgh, PA
Don't let the RCA name scare you. I figured that for the money, $20, I would not do much better, and I believe that I was right. I listen to them all day in the office for music and talk radio, and they work very well. You do not get the isolation chamber feel that you do with really high-end headphones, but they are not priced to be high-end headphones. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 great price for quality headphones Saturday, September 27, 2008 A Customer from putnam valley ny

4 of 5 You Get What You Pay For. Saturday, September 27, 2008 blakedough from No. Bergen, NJ
There all right, you get what you pay for, good noise reduction. Decent noise replication. Everyday use I couldn't deal with it, they where bought for my daughter, so this reveiw is based on her. If your looking for something with good noise reduction in a not so noisy enviorment then these are all right. If your looking for high performance in noisy situations don't even bother. 4 of 5 Great value, good performance Thursday, September 25, 2008 New RCA Headphone Owner from Boston, MA
I'm highly skeptical that the original price was $100. I paid $20 for these which is a great deal no matter what the original price was. Overall these sound really good. The treble seems lacking at times but the bass sounds very deep. Very comfortable as well. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Good for the price Wednesday, September 24, 2008 A Customer from Washington
I have had other NC earphones and these certainly represent well. I was disappointed with their fit on my head as they did not quite seal against all the ambient noise. Still, I was satisfied with them and the price. Was this review helpful?
3 of 3 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 GREAT sound Wednesday, September 24, 2008 money from las vegas, nv
I listen to pop, rock and classical, and they all sound great on these headphones - I do not understand the poor reviews.
I think a lot of folks have failed to figure out the battery installation, although they still sound fine with no battery, just quieter.
It sounds GREAT, and it is comfortable and ADJUSTABLE in size - I have a very large head and it fits me at a middle size setting. I agree with the other reviews that it is not truly NOISE CANCELLING, but rather has a builtin 12db amplifier powered by 1 AAA battery (not included) you must install in the earpiece that has the arrow in it. There are no instructions, and this is NOT obvious - took me a week to realize it.
After you install the battery, if you turn the switch ON it makes the builtin amplifier work, so what you hear gets louder, but it does NOT eliminate external noise, it just overcomes it.
