5 of 5 Practical Friday, December 28, 2007 Demo from Hyde Park, UT
It's just amazing how many companies dedicate so much time to making their flash drives, but nobody realizes how annoying it is to have to carry around a cap separately of your drive. It's not that hard just to get rid of it. Sandisk was on the right track with the Cruzers, but I love this design more than any other I've seen, because I can simply connect it to my belt loop with a clip (not included) and detach it whenever I want, then simply put it back, and it remains solid.
Only draw-back is that the transfer rate isn't amazing. It's not bad by any means, but the Cruzers I've seen run a bit better.
I mostly bought this on principle, just because of the design. Price is kinda high for only a moderate transfer rate and 2G, but the design is more than enough to make up for it with me. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Appears to be great design Friday, December 07, 2007 A Customer from Dunellen, NJ
After having two versions of a different brand USB drive fail mechanically in two different spots (once losing the key ring) (and once coming loose in the housing). I decided to look at alternatives, this looks to be a well designed compact drive at an affordable price.
Have barely used it yet -- but it appears to meet what I was hoping to get. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Worth the $$$ Friday, December 07, 2007 Jo from Los Angeles, CA
This 2GB flash drive is a little bit pricier than others I've seen, but it's worth it. My boyfriend accidentally dropped my laptop with the flash drive plugged into the side USB port. It hit the ground, the drive bent in half. And still worked!!! I ordered another one anyway, just in case. Oh, and the end cap snaps on more securely than any other I have, so it'll never get lost. 5 of 5 Excellent overall product Wednesday, December 05, 2007 A Customer from Nashville, TN
Its small, light, easy to use, and looks nice.
I love that the cap goes on the key ring. It fits the drive securely, so you'd never lose the drive. And when using the drive, the whole keychain/lanyard does not have to hang off the computer. My car audio player takes USB drives. So I can use the drive when the key is on the ignition - smart. The black and blue colors also match very nicely with the audio player - couldn't be happier! The write speed is a little slow - writing 2 gigs could take several minutes (read speed is very fast). But thats not a complaint at this price. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Perfect Size, Excellent Storage Wednesday, December 05, 2007 A Customer from Detroit, MI
The protective sleeve (which locks in place because of dimples on the sides) is much better than the caps that fall off my other thumb drive. Fits on my key chain so I don't have to bother tracking it down ever. Perfect solution for portability of files! Was this review helpful?
3 of 5 A bit slow Tuesday, December 04, 2007 A Customer from providence ri
I am disappointed this drive is a bit too slow. I have another thumb drive that has a much higher write speed. (I'm using WinXP pro) Other than that, it was a very compact drive, good value. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Exceeded Expectations Tuesday, December 04, 2007 A Customer from San Diego, CA
It's smaller than I expected, which is a good thing. Small, lots of capacity, reasonably priced. What more can you ask for? Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 small size, large value Thursday, November 29, 2007 A Customer from Milwaukee, WI
This flash drive is ideal. Small enough to fit on a keychain, but enough space to hold the essentials. No problems with more than adequate loading speeds, I am inclined to purchase another one soon... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Compact, and attractive. Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Kingsville,TX
While everybody around me has the rather large Kingston drives, I've this small, sleek looking pen drive that everyones thinks is a cordless signal receiver.
This drive is one of the fastest I've seen. Just plug it in and within 3 secs you're able to open the files.
I got it for $15, and it sure was a nice deal. Was this review helpful?

Great value. Instant set-up. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Fast, compact, and 2GB!!! Wednesday, November 28, 2007 A Customer from Dallas, TX
This is the smallest jump drive I have ever owned yet, it has the greatest storage capability as well. The 2.0 USB is fast and I have no formating or transferability issues, unlike other flash/jump drives I have owned (I'm constantly transferring info from PC to Macs and vise versa). I would recommend this product to anyone needing a quick, portable and safe means of data storage. Was this review helpful?

2 of 5 Very slow. Tuesday, November 20, 2007 seattle_traveler from Redmond, WA
This is one of the slowest USB flash drives I've ever seen. It is much slower than some USB 1.1 devices even though it is supposed to be a USB 2.0 device. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Beware, this is a VERY slow USB Flash Drive Monday, November 19, 2007 A Customer from Seattle, WA
Slower than some of my USB 1.1 devices yet it is a USB 2.0 device. You will wait a long time to copy files on this drive, be very patient, or do it while you are sleeping! Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Good price, but this is an extremely slow flash dr Monday, November 19, 2007 A Customer from Seattle, WA
Beware the performance of this drive. There's a reason they are blowing them out so cheap - they are the slowest USB flash drive you've probably ever seen. Was this review helpful?
2 of 5 Slow data transfer Tuesday, October 09, 2007 A Customer from Vancouver, WA
I asked Lexar why the Firefly was so slow. They responded "This JumpDrive is manufactured under MLC technology. MLC stands for Multiple Level Cell technology. It is a technology that allows each memory cell in flash media to store two bits instead of one in each memory cell." This USB Flash Drive uses the lower cost MLC technology, and can write at 1MB per second and read at 6MB per second. So this JumpDrive is normally slow in data transfer.
Positives: it is incredibly small Was this review hel |
