I expected a little more from Altec Lansing. It works good if you use good quality audio input (like quality mp3 from good sound card+drivers from a pc/laptop). I got it for 19 bucks and so I got the value for the money I spent Was this review helpful?

I bought these when they were on sale because of the Altec Lansing name. I have several sets of AL PC speakers (used one set through the headphone jack of my home stereo, they are that good) and they are top of the line for sound so my expectation for these headphones was quite high.
First, the good. They are by far the most comfortable set of ear muff style phones I have ever had. They also block effectively all outside noise. I love the long cord and inline volume adjustment. The sound is good. Bass is very good.
Now, the bad. The highs are a bit mushy. I have tried these on a PC and on my home stereo (Harman/Kardon 2 channel solid state 100 watt/channel) and still the highs mush into the mid range.
Overall, for the price, they are an above average set of headphones for average use. Was this review helpful?

For my money these Altec's blow away the Bose headphones...around the ear design creates a great listening experience, yet they are light enough that when turned down, you can still hear what is going on around you.
