5 of 5 Great Display with Mac Tuesday, September 23, 2008
A Customer from Oakland, CA
Great display for use with my Macbook - I hooked it up, closed my laptop lid, re-woke my machine from sleep with a USB keyboard and it worked instantly. Great deal too.

5 of 5 Perfect Tuesday, September 16, 2008
Judge from San Antonio
I am as skeptical as they come, but this product is brilliant. At this price, I'd buy a second monitor right now IF I could fool my new Vista-based desktop into accepting a dual-monitor configuration.

4 of 5 Good Monitor for the Price Monday, September 15, 2008
A Customer from Jacksonvile FL
It's hard to find a non-Mac monitor that works well enough with a Mac at this price. It's still not as good looking as my Macbook screen that sits right next to it, but it's close enough and when not working with graphics programs it's fine. We watch t.v. programs on it as well and it is clear and defined.

4 of 5 Acer 22" monitor Monday, September 15, 2008
Satya from Gainesville, FL
The purchase has always been smooth, efficient and hassle free with Buy.com. Order from Buy.com, and in a week or less the merchandise is at your door. The price is reasonable. For my purpose, the monitor is of good size with crisp and clear images and letters. The wide size helps opening several windows side by side. Just plug it in and it is ready to go. I am enjoying the monitor from day one.

5 of 5 Great value, great monitor Wednesday, September 10, 2008
Tim from Pittsburgh
The 1680 x 1050 res won't run properly with my laptop but the 1280 x 1024 looks pretty good. Using a VGA cable, although I like having the DVI option when I finally build a system. I suspect the provided VGA cable (or my laptop output) has an issue as sometimes it loses its color and I have to jiggle it even though I used a screwdriver to tighten the cable. Overall, very satisfied with the monitor although be prepared for things to look differently with the widescreen.

5 of 5 Great LCD for the money! Wednesday, September 10, 2008
A Customer from Plainfield, IL
You can't go wrong with this Acer screen. Other LCDs may perform better but for the price, you can't complain. It comes with a 3-year warranty too which is a big plus.

5 of 5 Great display, great price Wednesday, August 20, 2008
Bill from San Antonio, TX
This is a really nice display- crisp text and graphics, plenty of room. I have 3 similar displays from Acer (the oldest one being about 2 yrs old) and all work great - no problems. I use Macintosh and the digital input to the display is just plug and play - it just works. Delivery from Buy.com was fast. No problems. Everything should be this easy and efficient.

5 of 5 Bought two more. Great value! Tuesday, August 12, 2008
Bruce from Minneapolis, MN
Just bought two more. Paired them with PNY GeForce 6200 AGP for legacy AGP motherboards to see the boot-up screen. - See my review of Sunday, August 12, 2007 - I have eight of these for personal use and use in my wife's design office. They are a great value. If you have an older graphics card, it may not recognize the monitor on boot up (so you won't see the boot sequence.) No problem for me, since I rarely have to access the bios, once I configure a machine. (And I have a small LCD to hook up when I need to.) I highly recommend these monitors and plan to buy one more so I can double the real estate on my own computer.

Andrew from Idaho Falls, Idaho
Had it for a week now and absolutely love it. It is great to watch blu ray movies on and also great for gaming. Price was excellent can't beat it. Seen screens similar to this sold in stores for $75 to $100 more than here. What a bargain.

From 15" CRT to a 22" LCD I have more desktop space minus the CRT monitor and more monitor square inches thanks to this huge LCD. Setup was easy and fast. Nice Product.

5 of 5 Great Value 22" Wide Screen Monday, June 16, 2008
JST from Altanta, GA
This monitor says what it does and does what it says. It meets my expectations. As another reviewer mentioned, if you need one that rotates or adjusts up/down, you will need to pay more for another brand/model. On the highest resolution I notice a little bit of pixel flickering, but it is possible it may be my integrated graphics driver or some interference. Finally, a plug for Buy.com. They are my FAVORITE Etailer.

4 of 5 Not bad Friday, June 13, 2008
FD347 from NY NY
I have no prior experience with LCDs so I can't base this review on anything but my current purchase. I too upgraded from a CRT (15-inch)and the initial impact is "sheesh, this thing's big!" It's a good price for a basic panel. I had to knock down the overall rating to 4 stars for 1 reason - the color. Almost every low-end panel comes only in black. I looked around for weeks for a white 22" unit and they don't exist in this price range (or I couldn't find one). It sticks out like a sore thumb on my white desk in a white hutch so this isn't a kick to Acer in particular, but to all LCD makers. How about giving us a choice, eh?

5 of 5 Its like a billboard! Sunday, May 25, 2008
Clint from Apple Creek, OH
I upgraded from a 17" CRT... So this thing is humungous! What's even funnier is I paid more for my old CRT... I've had this monitor for a few weeks now and I'm in love. I watch movies, do music and video editing, and many other things that were a pain to do with my little monitor. It's bright and colorful. It doesn't glitch or lag at all. I'm EXTREMELY happy with it! Can you hear the heavenly choir singing in the background? It's not HD, but for $200 including shipping??? I still hear the choir... AHHHH

Quite lovely. I just wish it had a usb port, but one cannot have everything, can one? The price is right and delivery was quick. I recommend both the monitor and buy.com.

5 of 5 Great value for the money Saturday, May 24, 2008
A Customer from Hemet, CA
You just can't beat the price, and this is a decent LCD monitor. It arrived with one dead pixel awkwardly close to the center of the screen, which can be occasionally annoying, but not annoying enough to put everything back as it was and deal with the shipping back and forth and proof of purchase and all that kinda crap. I just got unlucky and got a dead pixel. The low contrast ratio is not a problem. You really don't need 10,000:1. This may become an issue as the monitor ages, but for a little over $200 you just can't beat it. Buy a new one. This is a large but low end LCD. Setup is straightforward if you RTFM, otherwise it can be a little confusing figuring out which button does what. I've watched quite a bit of streaming content from Netflix and the picture quality is excellent. Note that I'm using an analog hookup because my notebook graphics card only goes to 1200 x 800. Perfectly acceptable for most purposes. As I use it, highly recommended. As a digital monitor with 1650 x 1050 native, I'm sure it would be quite stunning for visual design work, or for watching DVDs off a progressive scan player. I'm good with 1200 x 800 for everything I do, which includes a fair bit of Photoshop work. You just can't beat this deal. As usual, Buy.com was super prompt with their free shipping, as in 2 days after ordering. Dinged 1 point on performance because of the dead pixel. But I'm more or less happy as a pig in **** with this monitor. Sure kicks my notebook monitor's butt.

5 of 5 What a simple installation! Wednesday, May 21, 2008
A Customer from San Francisco, CA
Everything the other reviewers have said regarding the ease of setup is correct. Out of the box, hook it up, and change your screen resolution and you're up and running. I was also impressed with the ability of the monitor to make it's own color adjustments. I haven't even needed to touch the adjusting buttons.

5 of 5 Undeniable value Thursday, May 15, 2008
A Customer from Austin, TX
After six months of ownership I give the AL2216W five-stars across the board considering the product for the price. Ignoring price I'd have to lower the "performance" down to a "mere" four stars compared to some of the stand-outs in the 20+ inch LCD category that have enticingly rich, deep color displays (not that this Acer looks bad -- it looks quite good). I currently own six LCD monitors, one LCD TV and one plasma TV plus I used to sell and install home theater displays so I feel I have a decent amount of personal experience to judge general display quality. I feel the Acer is great for most all users -- the exception would be those doing serious graphic work that depends on precice color coordination with real world objects. The primary "con" I can point to is the lack of a height-adjustable stand but that's a feature not normally found in this price range under any brand. I've used this panel extensively for programming, gaming and low-quality video (YouTube, MSNBC, online training, etc). The monitor is beautiful for normal use and responds very well to a range of games including WoW, Eve and BF2142. I'm using an Nvidia 8600GT-series card with 512MB video memory in a dual-monitor setup along with a standard 4x3 19-inch auxillary LCD panel. (A standard 19-inch has the same display height as a 22-inch widescreen, in case you were wondering.) This is all on Vista Home Premuim with 4GB ram on an AMD X2 CPU (2GHz). Vista sometimes chugs a bit but the graphics and this monitor are great. The combination of performance, low price, no tax and free shipping make this a "highly recommended" panel to anyone looking to get maximum panel size for minimum investment.

5 of 5 Great buy! Wednesday, May 14, 2008
Gretchen from Baltimore, MD
After using a 17in. LCD screen for several years it took a few days getting used to the wide screen. But it's great! The color is vibrant and clear and its easily adjustable if you need to do that. The only thing I wish the monitor could do is adjust the height up and down. But for the price I paid, it couldn't be better. Plus, with google check-out I got an additional $20 off. With that additional money off I could afford to pay for the 2-day shipping which was much better than having to wait for a week or more. All in all, I couldn't have done better for the money.

5 of 5 Good workhorse Tuesday, May 13, 2008
GPB from Sunnyvale, CA
I got it as a replacement for a 20" Apple Cinema display and it's worked well in the three weeks I've had it. The extra real estate is nice
